A Cycling Ride "DISHA"

In commemoration of the Nirbhaya case Institute of Management GL Bajaj in association with JWALA, an NGO organised a nationwide Cyclothon "DISHA"a Cycling ride & discussion to put an emphasis on women safety in our country at Crowne Plaza,Greater Noida. Women safety has to be our priority. It’s important for everyone - from the government to corporates and individuals – to join hands to make India a safer place for women to work and live.

A cycling ride “DISHA” was organised across 50 cities in India. Different cycling clubs from respective cities have come forward to ride and send a social message across the country about the sensitivity towards safety of the women. The outrage among the people of India is seen with the response being generated. More than 2000 riders have participated in the ride for this social cause.

Ms.Laxmi Agarwal (Chhapaak movie fame)was the Chief Guest of discussion. She is an Indian campaigner with Stop Sale Acid and a TV host. She is an Acid Attack Survivor Social Worker, Motivational Speaker and speaks for the rights of Women & acid attack victims.

Maj. Gen. Vikram Dev Dogra AVSM (Ironman)was the Guest of Honour. He served in the Indian Army for over 37 years. Recipient of the Sword of Honour and Presidents Gold Medal at the IMA. He secured 'A' grading in all courses and best student in five of them including Defence Services Staff College.
